Join us as we get together on Hilly Fields Park in Brockley, SE4 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. The 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love is an unmissible cultural and community event and it’s taking place in San Francisco right now. Colloquial Collective will help the people of London play out the celebrations. Join us as the sunshine will be our spotlight and the park our stage as we all unite to share music, performance, magic, poetry and storytelling. Everyone is welcome to celebrate our very own Summer of Love fifty years after the original San Francisco gathering of free spirits. Bring family, friends, sun cream (let’s hope it’s needed), a picnic, music, performance, colourful attire and, or course, flowers in your hair in this Do It Yourself festival.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We are in the mist of a world of uncertainty and disorientation. Britain brexiting from Europe, Trump's America building walls with mexico and brittle paths with Russia and China. Colloquial Collective calls out for everyone to take some time to chill and reflect on world peace and love this summer!
Steps to get it done:
Connect the community together, share in the special experiences of a post-war generation that must be remembered.
About the space
London will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love. The park has been born of commitment to its community, since the founder of the National Trust, Octavia Hill helped save it from bricks and mortar. This park will be the foundation on which we will all remember that the word, meaning and act of LOVE will never be lost in todays world
