Bee Workers to Key Workers
Liverpool bees helping Liverpool key workers by providing them balms to help soothe tired dry skin. We will also offer employment, volunteering and training opportunities in beekeeping in Liverpool
About the Project Creator
B 4 Biodiversity CIC was founded by Liverpool beekeeper, Andrea Ku in 2013. Combining the studies in Fine Art in 2000 and Landscape Architecture in 2010 with the self employment ideas, B 4 Biodiversity CIC was created in 2013. It has been a huge rollercoaster ride of learning about real urban environmental issues and how communities can create a postivie impact for themselves and nature where they live.
Our aim is to improve and enhance local green spaces through environmental education and practical activities.
Over the last 7 years, we have worked with over 2000 Liverpool individuals coming from our educational partners, community groups, schools, prisons, artists, libraries and fellow small businesses.
Since 2015, we have worked with The Gateway Collective on a number of environmental schemes that involve learning to live sustainably in an simple low-cost low-tech way. This has been through food growing, beekeeping, composting, water harvesting, upcycling and recycling.
During 2020, we ran our first collborative markets at Ford Lane Garden, L21 and at North Park Community Garden, L20 selling produce and products we have grown or made ourselves. We notice a significant demand in locally grown food through selling so much of our products and after bashing our heads together, we came up with Made in Bootle in autumn 2020.
