MISKE (meaning: in the forest in Lithuanian) was founded in 2015 by Liu Mackialo. It was the first temporary art and concert space in her native Vilnius, Lithuania. Now London based, MISKE has evolved into a small team committed to changing the way we experience our urban environments.
MISKE aims to:
To advocate for London’s green spaces. To inspire companies, communities and individuals to seek sustainable change.
To relieve the stresses caused by urban life, through increased exposure to nature. Facilitating a moment for pause to help the public reduce physiological stress through a connection to nature.
To provide communities with a shared space, both short term (installations) and long term (replanting installations). Creating spaces for meaningful connection with the earth and the people around us.
To promote the arts, MISKE works in collaboration with artists who bring awareness to the well-being of the planet and human beings. Green space installations will also be public galleries, bringing art back to the people.
In short, we here at MISKE believe nature and the art within it cannot exist behind walls, and nor indeed can we.
