Provide free sanitary products to young woman in Chichester and surrounding areas
Through community kindness we ensure that no young woman misses out on her education because of her period. We collect donations in PO18-22 and Midhurst and distribute them to local school. The aim is to put a Red Box in every school in our area, starting with senior schools moving onto primary. Each Red Box contains approximately 30 packs of towels and tampons (all absorbencies), individual packs of wipes, new underwear, bags to dispose and for discretion and tights. The funds that we receive pay for Red Boxes, donation boxes and supplies if stocks are running low. We don't ask the young women to register or answer any questions, all we need to know is that the young women needs it. We not only help those that can't afford but also those that can't access the products, for whatever reason. Or the young woman may just have been caught short. They can either take what they need right then or what they need for their whole cycle, we have no restrictions.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This Project is a fantastic idea because ensure that no young woman misses out on her education because of her period. It encourages people to talk about periods so it is no longer taboo. We believe that education is the future and in order to protect the future we must help our young women however possible. It means they maintain their dignity and enables them to focus on more important things.
Steps to get it done:
With a rise in the use of food banks we need to make sure that people aren't having to choose between food and maintaining their dignity.
