More about our impact
The environment
The overgrown garden was cleared and has been planted with fruit trees and soft fruit shrubs together with planters containing, herbs, strawberries and vegetable seeds. It gives a safe, secure space for children to learn about gardening.
The local economy
We used local suppliers for the planters, trellis, compost and plants and made a donation for the compost sourced from a local community compost scheme.
Volunteering, jobs & education
Nailsworth CAN's Grow It group provided volunteers to prepare the ground, install planters and trellis, procure the plants and plant them.
Activity, health and leisure
At the opening event small children were able to help plant herbs and seeds in the planters, with parents overseeing. Residents will be able to see the garden take shape over the growing season and help maintain it.
