More about our impact
The local economy
Turning a disused shop into a multi-functional space. Raising money for the community library. A variety of events and workshops to appeal to a wide range of the community. Employment opportunities for local people, both paid and voluntary.
Volunteering, jobs & education
The shop will need staffing and this will involve volunteers as well as an aim to take on at least one paid apprentice.
Arts, culture & heritage
In most communities there is no greater heritage than the local library and in Lewisham borough we now have more community libraries than council run ones. We are creating something to support that system, Forest Hill has a great arts and creatives scene that we will be working alongside. Our proposal involves running workshops and classes in a variety of art, drama and other creative skills.
