Updates
After our successful launch earlier this year, we are absolutely thrilled to be able to continue our work and will be performing our show 'The Lost Leigh Goose' tomorrow, Friday 19th October, at Metal Culture in Southend. We will be hosting a day of theatre and puppetry, with an Under 5's Storytelling version of 'The Lost Leigh Goose' at 12pm, a Puppetry Workshop (Ages 8+) at 4pm and a performance of The Lost Leigh Goose (all ages!) at 5.15pm. Last weekend Wild Story Theatre joined the RSPB and Leigh Town Council for an outdoor Brent Geese Watch event at Strand Wharf to celebrate Leigh's wildlife. We performed short snippets from our play and drew the crowds in to see the geese, both live, and in puppet form! It is all thanks to you, our supporters, that we were able to produce this play, launch the company and make connections with local communities, businesses and arts organisations, allowing us to continue our work. We are very excited for our future plans and will keep you all posted! A BIG Thank You! Elaine Hartley Artistic Director, Wild Story Theatre [email protected]
Thanks to everyone's help, we launched a successful show of 'The Lost Leigh Goose' at the end of January. We had a fantastic audience and sold out at The Clifftown Theatre in Southend! We had great audience feedback, which included the following comments: "Incredible work. Full of beauty and imagination" "Colourful, creative and restorative:" "Loved the music and beautiful music and puppetry" We are thrilled, and can't wait to run some workshops with local groups and to develop the show further for future performances which can reach out to a wider audience and involve more local artists. More updates to follow!
We did it! Thank you so much everyone who has pledged and supported us! Rehearsals are well under way and we are very excited to be producing our show, 'The Lost Leigh Goose', at The Clifftown Theatre this Saturday, 27th January, 4pm in Southend. Members of local community groups from Project 49 and Metal Art School will be attending, alongside theatre professionals and members of the public. We can't wait to get the show on it's feet and receive feedback from our audience. There will be a chance to chat afterwards, so if you're coming along, make sure you say Hi!
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
Whoop, 30 people have pledged since fundraising began!
We are now resident at Metal in Chalkwell Park with beautiful space and sea views to develop the show. We've been delving into worlds of Arctic Tundra, Seascapes, Siberian Forest and Essex coastline with various puppets being crafted out of all sorts of materials. We just have 3 days left to raise the money for the public showing and community workshops. Please spread the word and help us reach our target so we can share our creative world and celebration of wildlife and Essex with as many people as possible!
