Volunteering, jobs & education
Pupils from local promary schools attended free workshops to learn about dinosaurs and Sir Richard Owen as well as encouraging them to bring their parents back into the city centre to enjoy Dino Fest weekend.
Arts, culture & heritage
Dino Fest was established to promote Lancaster's strong links with renowned palaeontologist, Sir Richard Owen who coined the word 'dinosaur' and was alos one of the founders of London's Natural History Museum. He grew up and lived most of his life in Lancaster. Our event balances fun of animatronic dinosaurs with educational aspects to deliver a quality event and promote local history.
Activity, health and leisure
Dino Fest was a free event which encouraged people to gte out and about in Lancaster city centre. Activities were spread throughout the city to encourage people to be active and also tp promote leisure activities and venues throughout Lancaster. We also partnered with Lancaster Health Festival who complemented our event with health themed stalls and activities filling Lancaster's Dalton Square alongside the dinosaurs.
