The idea
Over time, this pavilion In the much loved local Lammas Park has become neglected and run down. We think its time to take a closer look and create an upgraded welcoming, safe, building that will give local people a new space for a range of activities and events.
Working in close partnership with local residents, existing community groups and all who have an affinity with the site - by working together right from the start in planning and designing the project - we hope to give the pavilion a new lease of life for the whole local community to enjoy,
The local authority - London Borough of Ealing - who own the building and site, have voiced their support
There will be a programme of capital works required to restore and upgrade the building; Phase 1 of the project as here is to secure funding for a Feasibility Study which will ultimately produce a final report showing the pathway forward
What we'll deliver
- Funding of Phase 1 of project will be used to carry out a study into feasibility of delivering a restored pavilion
- This Feasibility Study will be carried out by independent, professional consultants
- It will be a consultation to hear what the local community wants
- Building volume constraints will be assessed and aligned with defined community uses
Why it's a great idea
A restored and refurbished pavilion will let local people and community groups come together at all stages of the project and contribute to local post Covid recovery
Through the Phase 1 consultation process, more people and a wider range of people will engage with the building and the local park
The local economy will be boosted by the involvement of local social entrpreneurs in areas such as a on site cafe
We hope the project will provide opportunities for other groups that have not yet engaged with the site, such as local architectural students in the design process and volunteer groups in the consultation phase
Activities tailored for the disabled and disadvantaged will be an important feature of any proposed facility
