The idea

Our vision is to create not just a playground, but a community hub where children of all backgrounds come together, where families bond, and where the wider community can engage in collective celebrations. In light of previous feedback , we have taken special care to ensure that this proposal goes beyond our school's boundaries to address the broader community's needs, especially those of our disadvantaged children.

Objectives:
1. Develop a state-of-the-art playground tailored to the early years.
2. Offer access to the local community beyond school hours.
3. Ensure that disadvantaged children are beneficiaries of the new facilities.
4. Strengthen the community bond through events and interactive sessions.

What we'll deliver

  • Install 4 long benches
  • Install 7 mushroom seats
  • Install artifical grass
  • Install 5 picnic benches
  • Install 9 outdoor play and learn boards
  • Install 4 ground games / markings

Why it's a great idea

Open Days: Our school will host open days where local families can come and enjoy the facilities.

Stay and Play Sessions: Recognising the importance of parent-child bonding, caregivers can spend quality playtime with their children.

Local Fairs: The playground area will be designed in such a way that it can be used as a venue for school fairs. This will not only raise funds for school initiatives but will also provide a platform for local businesses and artisans.

HAF funded Holiday Clubs: Our playground will be available during the holidays for clubs that offer free access to disadvantaged children, ensuring that children have a safe and enriching environment to spend their holidays.

Benefits to Disadvantaged Children: Beyond the direct physical benefits of having a playground, our project ensures Social interaction with a community-focused approach with children from various backgrounds, skills development, and emotional well-being.

Steps to get it done

  • Providing funding to Upton Heath to develop, design and build an outdoor learning space

We believe that a playground is more than grass, seats, swings and slides; it's where memories are made, friendships are forged, and communities come together. With a commitment to inclusivity and community engagement, our project aims to be a shining example of unity and togetherness. We humbly seek your support in bringing this vision to life.
