We are raising funds to have a gym frame/climbing equipment built in our school hall for PE lessons and afterschool clubs. We would be so very grateful for your support to this cause!
Kensington Primary Academy is a newly opened school on the Hammersmith and Kensington borders. The school opened in 2016 with a Reception class of 30 children and opened a nursery for the 2017 academic year. The school will be at full capacity in 2022. Whilst the building is brand new, due to having such a small number of classes, funding is lacking in order to furnish the school with essential items such as this gym frame. Further more, the playground for the school is on the roof and whilst this is a fantastic use of space, it does come with its own restrictions such as the ability to have outdoor climbing equipment, making it even more important to have an indoor gym frame for the children for physical development and building muscle strength. We would like to purchase two Trio Nova climbing frames with linking equipment provided by Universal Services. We have an active PTA, Friends of KPA, but with such a small parent body, fundraising for this equipment is taking a very long time.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The children at the school and the local community will greatly benefit from this project. Many children in the local area live in apartments or flats and have limited access to outdoor space. Research shows that Primary aged children are become more unfit, less active and more sedentary, and in many cases, are heavier then 20 years ago. All weather climbing facilities will provide a fantastic opportunity for our children.
