During the lockdown we have had to close the clubhouse and external facilities. We cannot play Cricket so we have no money coming in at all. In order to ensure the grounds and wickets remain playable for when we are able to play again, we need to pay for the Groundsmans work and also keep machinery repaired and the environment in good shape. This usually costs £250 a week, and even with cutting back on costs and expenses, we still need over £500 a month just to stand still. So we are asking for help to keep the club going just to pay the Groundsman's expenses at this stage.
If you are a playing member we are asking you to pre-pay a small proportion of your usual annual subscription. £10, £20 or more. Every little helps and it will be discounted from your usual annual fees when we start up again.
If you are a supporter, local interested resident or helpful local businesss then please also help us out with a donation, however large or small.
Together we can make it through this
What we'll deliver:
- Enable us to fund the Groundsman
- Maintain the facilities for July onwards
- Support a valuable local resource
Why it's a great idea:
As a member, this is your club. Playing, or watching your friends and family play, is just a small part of what belonging to a club means. Imagine what things would be like if we couldn't play Cricket at Ricky. If Rickmansworth CC didnt exist. Now please do your bit and give us some, or all, of this years membership fees so we can keep going during these tough times. If 25 members put in £20 each we would be able to keep the grounds maintained for May, or June. Every little helps.
As a local business or resident, we are blessed to have such a wonderful green space on our doorstep where hundreds or kids and adults take part in Cricket during the Summer. What better sight is there in our green and pleasant land. We have fought off developers and vandals and come through countless wars since Napoleonic times to the Great War. We don't want Covid-19 to beat us
Steps to get it done:
- To be ready to open again and offer Cricket on 1st July 2020
