The idea
Jaywick sands is a photographic project being delivered in partnership with local people, business and organisations such as the CVS Tendring, Dig for Jaywick, Essex County Council; plus local business such as Never Say Die Pub and the Jaywick strong man competition.
The project is being delivered by Tobias Harvey and Essex based photographer who has work nationally and internationally for World of Interiors, Port Magazine, the Telegraph, Financial Times and the New York Times. http://www.tobiasalexanderharvey.com/
The project seeks to represent the village from an asset based perspective, increasing community connectivity and providing local residents with increased skills in photography and peer-peer community development
What we'll deliver
- A photographic documentary record of Jaywick Sands
- Deliver s series of 5 Community Photographic workshops
- Unusual Suspects - an exhibition images that celebrate the beauty and community spirit of the village
Why it's a great idea
This project will increase the opportunity for the people of Jaywick to improve arts skills
The project will bring together members of the community and increase community connections
The project will provide a positive photographic resource for the Community to use and will seek to change perception of Jaywick
