More about our impact
Arts, culture & heritage
The project provided access to high-quality dance training and performances, enabling participants to develop skills in contemporary dance technique, creative expression, choreography, performance, teamwork, and confidence. Bursaries supported sustained participation in community classes, holiday intensives, and youth company training, promoting ongoing engagement with the arts and contributing to physical and mental wellbeing. Through taster classes and subsidised tickets, the project also strengthened Ashford’s cultural offer, nurtured new audiences, and contributed to a vibrant, inclusive local arts community. Feedback from our audiences and participants: “I have never done dancing before, but I enjoy dancing. I would stay forever doing dance.” “The dance intensive was an amazing opportunity to work with a professional dancer and learn repertoires from a current touring show. Exciting and inspirational!” "It was incredible. The talent, the choreography, the professionalism made for an incredible experience. We were blown away." “The high standard of contemporary dance training and exposure to Vardimon’s practices has pushed me physically and creatively, giving me the ability and confidence to take my training further.” “You have made Thursday classes feel like such a safe place.”
