ALL children have the right to play in nature. We do this by working with parents, community leaders, teachers and children directly. For the last 8 years we have been creating fairy homes, building the world’s best dens, playing hide and seek, looking closely at the world of worms and toasting scrummy marshmallows on open fires plus so much more. More importantly we provide children with opportunities for real play where nature is touched, looked at closely, smelt and felt. Where voices are loud, eyes sparkle and imagination soars.
We have been lucky to share a craft that is in danger of slipping from main stream society due to the rise in online entertainment for children and pressures on parents. In today’s society children are feeling disconnected to the natural world, isolated and unhappy and not feeling good enough and not belonging. We create positive, risky, sensory, exciting childhood experiences to allow children to use their innate ability to play to feel good.
Real play in nature can build bonds, physical skills, gross motor skills, love for nature, improved social, emotional and confidence skills through exploring, taking risks, sharing ideas, laughing and feeling good. People connected to nature feel physically better.
