Elgin Close Resource Centre is commissioned by Hammersmith and Fulham to deliver daycare for older people over the age of 65 who live in the borough. We provide support to older people with various support needs including those living with dementia, those who have had strokes, people living with mental health and those who are socially isolated or lonely.
We offer a range of activities linked to physical and mental wellbeing including yoga, chair based exercises, music, dance and art. We also arrange trips to museums, theatres, parks and trips to the coast,
Our catering team provides hot and cold meals on a daily basis and we often have barbeques in the garden if the weather permits.
Our garden has areas where we grow vegetables but there are other areas where people can come in and relax with a newspaper and a cup of tea. The 2019 garden project aims to continue the good work we did in 2018 in partnership with Hammersmith Academy students where students manage and maintained a section of the garden working with a volunteer coordinator from HCGA and those who attend the centre.
We also run a drop in service and we are open seven days a week.
