The Hullabaloo Soapbox Challenge is undoubtedly here to bring enjoyment to Sandown Bay. A go-cart race along the bay with some adventurous and creative members of the public with their creative carts.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
The Soapbox Challenge will be held on the 6th of May 2017 during our very own event 'Hullabaloo'. Teams from across the UK will compete, racing their homemade carts across the bay. The carts will make their way down Yaverland seafront towards Browns Family Golf and Cafe where the winners trophy will be rewarded at the end. Guaranteed to provide a fun filled challenge for all to take part in and spectate and deliver a full day of live music, stage performances, food, kite flying, carnival parades and walkabouts and an area filled with activities for children.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The Sandown Bay area needs something new to provide not just a day out but a connection to our admirable island and to know what is on your doorstep. Our idea to bring this event to Sandown was to make people aware that we do take magnificent areas for granted and they need to be used more. To bring an event like this to a small town would make a massive impact on the local community. We hope to increase the footfall of the area and bring arts to our event. We hope the Hullabaloo Soapbox Challenge will bring people together and utilise and activate areas which should be used a lot more from what it has to offer.
