Houses 2 Homes (H2H), a pioneering initiative that helps to re-build the lives of veterans by employing and training them in a range of building and renovation skills helping to transform derelict properties into homes for ex-service families to live in. TREES Services, a social enterprise based in the East Midlands, together with Mansfield District Council and New College Nottingham are working in association to deliver H2H Mansfield. We are currently transforming derelict houses into homes on Hillmoor Street, Pleasley. The first home has been completed and a veteran in his 70's and his daughter, who were at risk of homelessness, have moved in.
Houses2Homes was featured on Channel 4’s Great British Property Scandal: Every Empty Counts which was broadcast on 7th November 2012. George Clarke, presenter and architect (far right on the photo) is a huge supporter of our project and is campaigning to bring back in to use empty properties around the country.
Houses2Homes has also been featured on BBC East Midlands Today, The Nottingham Evening Post, GEM 106, The Chad and The British Forces Broadcasting Service.
