Updates
On behalf of Curzon Park Residents Association, we would sincerly like to thank all those who not only contributed to the cost of the Project, but also gave us their time and advice. In particular Chester West and Cheshire Council. The actual Boards were produced by Shelley Signs, Shrewsbury and the goundwork completed by Groundwork and Leisure Services Ltd, Penley near Wrexham
Since our last update we have had our final board completed - Board 1 Unfortunatly we have been delated in obtaining 'Permisions' to have it afixed to its Viewing Point near Overleigh Roundabout This involved a Survey by Scotish Power and their Legal Department being involved the Contract has now been drafted and will be disscused at our next Curzon Park Residents Committee Meeting on the 28 Oct 2025
We have at last been given clearance to finalise Board 2, as can be seen. We believe we have captured actual dated images showing Brick Works in today's Dingle, how bricks were made and how local Residents' made use of the Dingle for leisure. Even today many Walkers, Ramblers and Tourists to Chester pass through The Dingle. From requests a 'Footpath Sign' has recently been affixed at the end of Dingle Bank directing walkers towards the Dingle Steps and connecting with the other Footpaths towards Chester. We are now working on Board 1, were we hope to present further interesting information of the area surrounding The Dingle
The first part of our Project - 'The Bio Diversity Report for the Dingle' - is complete and the outcomes and detail can be found on the Curzon Park Residents Association Facebook Page. It can be found under searching for 'Woodland Habitat Survey and Condition Assessment' it is a very thorough and detailed report. We welcome any views and comments. The report has been studied in detail by the Chester Council Greenspace Officer and the comments in the Report will assist in any future decisions and planning Part two of our Project has taking longer than hoped to progress. However; We have now stepped forward to the actual production of the first of the three Interpretation Boards planned (as shown above) we still have some 'tweeking' to finalise this Board, and when completed and 'Signed Off' it will be the model for the final two Boards This image and and the further two proposed Boards were shown recently at our Curzon Park Residents Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) and generally approved We would like to take this opportunity of sincerely thanking the help and advice given to ourselves by the Tutors, in particular Rachael Roberts, and the students involved from Chester Art College. We appreciate the time given by the College, and we hope the Students will be able to reflect on how they have contributed to Chester, in particular 'our Dingle' in the future We would also like to thank all those Residents, our families and friends who have have contributed in helping us raise the money to enable the Project to take place and not forgetting of course all of Chester in the form of 'Grants' from Chester Council and local businesses
On behalf of Curzon Park Residents Association, and certainly on my own behalf, we sincerely thank all our 'Backers' for their contributions in helping us achieve our Target. Not only the monies we have received but also photos, stories and memories. The Biodiversity Survey is actually happening as this message goes to press, this will be over a few months in total and we will post a summary as soon as we can If you are passing through the Dingle, you may bump into James Towers (Senior Ecological Consultant), make sure you say 'Hello' The Interpretation Boards, have been taking time to design and populate, however we have 'Teamed Up' with Chester Art School to help us, and we are very grateful for their help and assistance. We are waiting various Company Logos, so we can acknowledge their contributions on the Board's, to include Chester West Council People to thank are Razia Daniels for the Introduction To Chester Art School, and Mr Tony Stevens for his continued support, patience and involvement - Thank You Tony -
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
