Paying for the upgrade of cabinet 13 in Highworth to get FTTC - Fibre to the Cabinet.
A community group to raise funds to enable fibre broadband in our area which is not part of the National Rollout scheme. This covers the c.255 properties connected to Cabinet 13, on the Highworth Exchange. The total cost to fund the upgrade is £4684 however the project has had a grant accepted which funds 75% of the cost. Therefore, the project now only needs to raise £1171 to fund the upgrade.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Faster broadband speeds (up to 50Mbps has been indicated by Openreach) due to fibre having lower interference than traditional copper telephone cables. These faster speeds will improve the experience of Internet users in the community (e.g. streaming audio/video) as well as enabling homeworking for more residents. As families grow and more of us become connected, being connected with speeds up to 4x faster than we're getting today will make a huge difference!
Steps to get it done:
We have until the 30th Novemeber to raise the money!!
