More about our impact
The environment
The borders have replaced about a third of the grass in front of the Firestation. All of the planting chosen for this project was selected to provide the flowers for as much of the year as possible, different flower structures and appeal to pollinators after significant research.
The local economy
The new pollinator garden is in the center of Heswall, where residents routinely pass. It has improved the appearance making the town center a more appealing place to come and shop or visit a restaurant
Volunteering, jobs & education
The news and consultation on the project has attracted 2 new volunteers to our team, it also caused the primary school we partnered with to focus lessons onpollinators and engaged the children in painting cobbles, creating a willow hurdle and bee banks
