The Wyndham Park Forum is a well-established group, formed in 2005 and bringing together people in the local community who care about Wyndham Park, nationally recognised with the Green Flag national excellence benchmark for publicly accessible parks and green spaces for the last eight years.
We work to promote greater public use of the park, develop public pride and community involvement and forge partnerships with anyone sharing the group’s aspiration and vision.
We believe that the Heroes Orchard will extend and elevate the work of the Forum, attracting more volunteers and increasing the profile of, and pride in the immediate locality as a great place to visit.
.
We encourage local schools to take an interest in all that happens in the park and develop regular dialogue between them and the group, which will be valuable when we promote the new orchard .
The Forum works closely with South Kesteven District Council and other key partner organisations, statutory and voluntary organisations and the wider community, in the provision of a high quality park meeting the needs of visitors today and in the future.
Since 2005, the Wyndham Park Forum has completed several projects of varying complexity, using a variety of funding opportunities. Local awards have been won for some of the projects and national recognition has been received for others.
The latest project, with funding received from the Heritage Lottery Fund, has been its refurbishment as a WWl Memorial Park, recognising the presence in Grantham of the Machine Gun Corps.
We also provide opportunities for local businesses to support improvements through sponsorship and investigate ways of securing external funding towards improvement projects.
