A village brass band proud to compete with the very best!
Hepworth Band is at the heart of a small village community in the Holme Valley, West Yorkshire and for over 140 years has been a part of the area’s rich culture and tradition.
As a Championship Section band, we compete at the highest level against such famous names as Black Dyke and Brighouse & Rastrick, in fact for a ‘village band’ we compete remarkably successfully, maintaining our Championship status for 25 years and having qualified during that time to represent Yorkshire at the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain at the Royal Albert Hall and having been invited to compete at the prestigious British Open Brass Band Championships at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
The band promotes its own annual concert series and performs further a-field in concert series promotions and festivals. It's also proud to play an active role in the local community, leading the Hepworth Feast celebrations, the Service of Remembrance, keeping up the tradition of carolling around local villages over the festive period and supporting local and national charities, performing at fundraising concerts and events.
