We'd like to build an exciting new playground for the school children, with an emphasis on fitness and fun. Over 60% of the funds have been raised - with your help we can cross the finishing line!
This imaginatively designed playground is going to have several distinct areas. It will include a fitness course, a natural planted " green island" and two climbing towers overlooking the canal and towpath.

Why it's a great idea:
Hanover School is situated in the heart of Islington and enjoys a stunning location. However despite a fantastic new building development that we will shortly be able to enjoy, we have very limited outdoor space.
We have never before been in the position to make major improvements to the quality of our playground spaces. But the new building works have given us the opportunity to create a beautiful play area designed by a local architect, that the children are going to love.
The school has limited funds, but we have managed to dedicate a significant amount towards the project. And parents and local groups have also very kindly contributed through fund-raising events organised by our school association.
We are now in touching distance of making this exciting project a reality. If supporters of the school are able to contribute just a little more, collectively we will be able to create these amazing new play facilities for the children to enjoy.
Steps to get it done:
We are also very keen to involve parents and other volunteers in the making of this new playground. We are looking for people who may be able to contribute to: soil filling, planting, laying loose surfaces and some paintwork. VolunteerWe are very proud of our school and its special qualities and atmosphere. We have a very happy school community with excellent relationships between adults and children based on mutual respect and understanding.
Our wonderful location on the Regents Canal with the calming sound of the water in the lock and the weir, fantastic views over the city from our roof playground and the opportunities provided by places of local interest play an important role in making Hanover a unique school.
This, together with ever improving facilities and a dedicated, enthusiastic and very settled staff team, come together to make it a positive and happy place to learn.
We are constantly striving to provide our children with the best possible education and opportunities in every way; sending them on to secondary school with strong skills, confidence, and a love of learning. Our success in doing so is reflected in our November 2008 Ofsted report and our January 2012 HMI report on parental involvement.
