The idea
The COVID-19 lockdown has had a big impact on Winterton Cricket Club. We have suffered a huge loss of income due to reduced sponsorship, reduced fund raising opportunities and no match-day subs.
Despite this, we still have bills to pay including insurance and over £1000 a year on pitch maintenance.
To be able to continue to provide cricket for the local community we need your help to meet some of these costs. Money that you donate will be matched by the England & Wales Cricket Board so please give generously! We hope to see cricket back on The Hambrook Oval soon.
What we'll deliver
- A cricket pitch ready for play once the lockdown is lifted
- Equipment to help develop junior cricket
- Refurbished practice nets
Why it's a great idea
As the cricket season has yet to get underway and all our fundraisers are currently cancelled, we have no income, but we still have to pay the bills!
We have started to build a thriving junior team and no doubt they will all be itching to play some cricket. With your help we can restore some normality back to life. The idyllic summer scenes of cricket on The Hambrook Oval and spectators enjoying the sunshine hopefully are not too far away.
We love our cricket club and want to ensure it survives this crisis. With your help, we will be open again as soon as possible once it is safe to do so.
Steps to get it done
- Provide teams for 2021 season
- Improved equipment provided
