Updates
After the past few months of a few severe cold snaps, the bulbs we planted last autumn are starting to emerge strongly. We can’t wait to get started again with new ideas and have already had a good clear out of our shed ready for spring and summer jobs. Camden has added us to their Crowdfund site so hopefully we may be able to continuing raising even more for new projects in our communal garden this coming summer!
Supporting local projects that shape Camden’s town centres and high streets
We have managed some very attractive updates to the garden in the summer despite our long heatwaves. Some rearrangemenT of pots and getting rid of big plastic planters helped to make a welcoming space for two new lovely plants from Kentish Town Garden Centre as well as a very classy birdbath from ETSY. We recently had a visit from Wild West End people who gave us some useful advice for other areas and they were so impressed that they took photos to publish on their website and they will be back for another visit later this autumn. We are cracking on to do some autumnal bulb planting, and some gravel too will soon be on the way for a little bit more landscaping. We hope you have managed to come down and have a look and to just enjoy the peaceful place (at least, that is when the builders from next door are not in full flow,)
We are making some progress despite a little set back with the heatwave! Hope everyone is keeping cool! We see the birds enjoying their new bath and have spotted a few colourful butterflies. Some good news too is the some people from London Wild West End Project are coming for a visit in a couple of weeks and we hope to get a few tips from them. They have already given some good advice for avenues of funding for our future consideration, Thank you again everyone, we continue to use the funds wisely!
Soil and birdbath have arrived today, looking forward to diving in. If any strong person passes through the lobby and can shift a bag or two of soil down to the basement just next to the water tap outside, it would be very very much appreciated by us, We are going to put the bags there (by the spool) until Camden helps us to clear the garden shed. Thank you again to all our backers for making this happen, it’s great to have something now to get our hands dirty!
We have come to the end of our campaign today and so happy to say we have gone above and beyond to raise nearly 400£! This will go some ways to making Green improvements to our outside space. I also had a meeting with the ‘Wild West End’ organisation last week who are going to help with other resources such as advice and networking . Once our funds clear this week we can get started ordering soil and other items, first we will be Camden to assist in clearing away bulky items from the garden shed number 1. We will keep you posted and thank you again to all our generous backers for this support. It really does give us, and our garden a big boost,
Whoop, 10 people have pledged since fundraising began!
