The environment

Using local facilities, using kirklees waste facilities and encouraging recycling on the day

The local economy

We used the IMWS AlHikmah centre which is a fantastic local venue, over 50 local vendors provided stalls on the day and we had over 20 local businesses supporting this project, This means that our volunteers team of 50+ can continue to develop and support the community,

HappyMOMents CIO is a peer to peer local charity focussed on:

Maternal Health & Support
Children's Education, Health and Development
Community Development

Our core team is formed of professionals in Healthcare, Education, Infant Massage, Fitness and Breastfeeding Peer Supporters, all of whom are local residents and moms or practitioners with a wealth of experience. We focus on supporting families during their first 1001 Critical Days with their new child by improving parenting experiences by providing fun and positive educational and bonding experiences which are easy to access here in Batley & Dewsbury, especially as funding cuts had impacted critical preventative services in recent years.

We support and inspire more than 2000 Moms and families in the Batley & Dewsbury area. Our networks are predominantly on Whatsapp as Moms preferred to have this ‘instant connection’ (We have platforms on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter too)

We are open to all communities, even though our network is predominantly BAME. We actively seek opportunities to engage & support Fathers in their parenting too.

We work together with other local partner organisations such as BBEST, Local Nurseries, SWYT, NHS Midwifery, Locala, Kirklees Adult Education Service & the Local Maternity Voices Partnership to ensure that local families have the best opportunities for help & support when they need it.

Fundraising helps us to bring in exciting opportunities to the Batley & Dewsbury areas which local families would otherwise miss out on. This also supports our Volunteer Pathway which helps many women to train and gain the valuable experience they need to gain employment in the local education sector. Our volunteers are dedicated to be active within our local community to build a better community for the future of our children.
