More about our impact

More about our impact

The environment

The environment

We have championed the plight of declining numbers of insects especially pollinators with our theme encouraging all gardeners to create areas for garden wildlife. ALL of our wildlife gardens achieved gold standard. We also had an increased number of pubs/businesses entering and aim to further increase this to encourage businesses to also do their bit for wildlife

The local economy

The local economy

Through our social media channels we promoted all our sponsor businesses who are all local and encouraged their patronage by recommendation.

Volunteering, jobs & education

Volunteering, jobs & education

Several of the young people from the winning school could consider jobs in horticulture in the future.

Activity, health and leisure

Activity, health and leisure

It is well documented that gardening, and being outdoors improves mental health and gardening also promotes physical health. For the schools and young people - time gardening is time away from a screen.
