Updates
We're excited to announce that a major part of this project is now complete. We could not have done it without all the generous support we received from you all and would love to see you at the kitchen garden to celebrate and show you the progress we've made so far. Along with social enterprises; London Cooking Project & Be Enriched, we are hosting a special event for Urban Food Fortnight on Tuesday 25th September. The event will take part in 2 sections: Autumn vegetable planting session, 5.30pm - 7pm We will be holding an autumn vegetable planting session, during which drinks and nibbles will be supplied by local producers, giving people the chance to not only plant food that will be used by the community going forward, but also to pick up some new skills and knowledge related to food growing and cooking. Community meal, 7.30pm - 9pm Food provided during the event will be grown and harvested in the community kitchen garden spaces within the Ethelburga Estate, Battersea and from other Cultivate London community gardens around London, as well as by London based surplus food suppliers including City Harvest. The dinner will take place at the Battersea Canteen, an initiative run in partnership with Be Enriched and London Cooking Project. The Canteen’s wonderful chefs will devise a fantastic seasonal menu around the food that’s growing in the kitchen garden and will be cooked on site for all to enjoy at the dinner. All are welcome! This is a free event however booking is essential. Everyone is welcome to attend both parts of the event, or just one - please register for each part on the link below: https://billetto.co.uk/en/e/ethelburga-harvest-planting-party-tickets-303159 There won't be alcohol for sale but guests are welcome to bring a bottle.
Hello again everyone, One last note for the day to say a special thank you to the Bielenberg family, who, through some epic last-minute fundraising efforts of their own, were able to draw together the remaining funds required to help us meet our target. We are very grateful! Thank you again to everyone who supported this project. We can't wait to get growing :)
Hello everyone, A HUGE thank you to you all for donating to the "Growing Ethelburga" project over the past few months. As you will have seen, this week we hit our fundraising target, which is extremely exciting. This means that from this spring, the Ethelburga Estate will have its very own community kitchen garden for everyone to enjoy! Stay tuned for project updates, which we will be sending out as things get going in a few months. And don't forget, YOU helped make this happen, so please do come see us when the garden is complete. A community garden needs its community! There will be lots of great events and training sessions happening at the garden over the next two years, so do come along to take part. Information about these will be posted at both www.cultivatelondon.org and www.londoncookingproject.com, so keep an eye out, or even better, sign up to our mailing list. THANK YOU ALL, once again. Have a wonderful weekend. Hopefully see you all in the spring! Love from Cultivate London and the London Cooking Project.
Brilliant news, thanks everyone!
Hi lovely supporters, Just a quick note to let you know that we are in the process of securing some more funding for "Growing Ethelburga Estate", but we need a bit more time to get it in. Therefore, we will be extending our crowdfunding deadline by one month, until 25th October. We still have a way to go, but are feeling confident we will secure all the funding we need. Thank you all very much for your support thus far. We cannot say how much we appreciate it. Really looking forward to hosting you all at the space when we get it launched! Best wishes from the Cultivate London and the London Cooking Project :)
