To bring Honey bees into Grenfell road allotments and start a craft centre to turn the Bees wax into products that will fund the site going forward while giving the locals new skills and interests
This project has several distinct positives, The aim is to help save our Honey Bees that is in drastic decline, An Apiary has already been built and now just need the hives and Bees (which are not Cheap). The craft centre is going to be in our community centre where we have meetings. On scheduled days of the week Locals will be able to attend Candle making and soap making classes (ideally from the wax of our own bees), there will also be educational days to learn about Bee Keeping and Crafts, The funds raised will pay for the moulds and equipment required to do these crafts and educate the local community. This will help save our Honey Bees improve local health and well-being.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
By achieving this project we will be helping to protect our environment by improving Pollination and saving a species in serious decline, Our local area is recognised as one of the most needy in the country so this will help give the local community more beneficial things to do with their time and gain new skills. The products created will be sold locally improving the economics of running the site
