The idea
We want to provide skill-based workshops for young autistic people in the LBHF community.
Our project includes the following workshops: Hair Dressing, Cake Decorating, Art, Card and Soap Making for young autistic people. Each free class will consist of 7 to 10 young autistic persons.
We’ve included Salsa classes for the whole family to join. Our Salsa are great class for movement and coordination and bringing the families together, open to all who wish to join.
We've added Group Counselling sessions for parents and carers in the community. We have found these sessions essential to the mental and emotional wellbeing of the families who are often overlooked. Our goal is to meet the needs of the young autistic people and their families within the LBHF Community.
We plan to supply other workshops and therapies including cycling, sailing, horse-riding and fishing lessons, specifically catered to the needs of young people in the community. All our projects are free to join.

Why it's a great idea
Our range of activities offer ways on reducing the social effects on those affected by autism, such as providing skills for the future, solutions to wellness, isolation, and loneliness. For many on the spectrum, integration and sensory issues are real barriers that we aim to tackle, by opening a world of opportunities for those impacted by autism. We expect to see the lives of young autistic people transform. We expect to see positive outcomes, confident young people with better outlook on life, better understanding of their dreams, aspirations, and passions, with a further move towards their paths. We believe that the autistic community have a lot to offer when given such opportunities and that equal opportunity should be for all. Our aim is for the engagement and participation of our young autistic people into the community in which they live.
Steps to get it done
- Hiring activity space
- Purchasing equipment required
- Start workshops, Salsa Classes and Group Counselling sessions for parents
Our ideas cater to the needs of the young people on the spectrum. To include them in a vast range of activities, that for many would not otherwise have access to. To encourage them to take part and to be a part of the community in which they live.
Our mission is for the inclusion of autistic people and continuing to raise awareness in the community. To change the mindset and the misrepresentation of autistic people. Autistic people are simply unique and special. We want to embrace them by opening up a world of opportunities for all on the spectrum. We believe that no one should be excluded, irrespective of their disability. Equal opportunity should be for all so please help us in changing the world’s attitude to autism.
