Fundraising to support improvement of cricket facilities used by Gillingham CC at Ringsfield, Suffolk.
Maintenance of cricket playing facilities requires significant, ongoing, investment in terms of both time and finances. This project is designed to provide funds to support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of facilities used by Gillingham CC at Ringsfield, Suffolk. Priorities include: - Purchase of materials for critical work on the playing surface (square and outfield) including weed-killer, grass seed and top-soil (loam) - Rental of machinery to support these works including rollers and spikers - Refreshing the pavilion by repainting and decorating to provide a more welcoming facility
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
An improved playing surface means safer, more enjoyable cricket for all participants. A cricket pitch providing pace and even bounce will support more enjoyable matches, encouraging participation from within the village and beyond. As well as usage for league cricket by Gillingham CC, improved facilities will encourage use from other groups / clubs supporting wider sport in the area as well as providing a greater return on investment from the village council.
