Great Harwood Rovers (GHR) FC is a local community football club based at the Townfield Mobility Arena in East Lancashire. We are an FA Charter Standard Community Club and are proud to be part of the Great Harwood community. Our club was founded in 1975 and has over 350 active participants in 28 teams, ranging from under sevens to under 18s, with a mini-league for four- to six-year-olds. In 2017, through Section 106, money was provided with an £800,000 investment, enabling us to create a community facility for everyone to be part of. Our new ground has four pitches, a purpose-built pavilion, and facilities including catering, meeting, education, and changing rooms. Great Harwood Rovers are represented in various local Saturday and Sunday leagues. Team training sessions occur on a midweek night, and the club is managed and run by around 70 local volunteers. In any given week, these volunteers put in over 700 hours of effort into running the teams and club. Both managers on the pitch and the 12 committee members behind the scenes work tirelessly to ensure the club is well-run and a welcoming place for the local community to enjoy. GHR is trying to reach out within the community to make the facility inclusive to all and to bring about many benefits to the community, the neighbourhood, and the people who live there by addressing local issues.
