Bringing people together behind good ideas that communities want to see happen!
We will secure the relevant permission or licence as and when required. In the unlikely event that we cannot secure them, no monies will be collected from our backers. This will be a multicultural event taking place in an open area in the Hounslow high street. The event will involve Somali, Arab, East African, East European, White & Asian communities to promote unity and community cohesion. The setting of this event will be like a mini Mela. We will involve professional singers, dancers, musicians and artists to promote the event. We will conduct auditions at various venues to bring talented people together from across all sections of the community and provide a platform to exhibit their talents. We will create awareness amongst the young and old about the best traditions of diverse cultures and build a sense of pride in their cultural heritage. In this way, all communities collectively will build togetherness & rich culture for British society.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We are living in a multicultural environment and there is a dire need of understanding each other's cultural and religious values. Drug abuse, knife crime and alcohol abuse are unfortunately on the increase. We believe that music and arts create a calming environment to overcome these problems and raise awareness about the above issues by bringing people together and creating cultural harmony. Our project will raise awareness of the cultural heritage of each community promoting social inclusion amongst the diverse communities living in Hounslow and neighbouring areas. The project aims to raise the profile of small community groups by promoting their cultural values. It will also help through groups to find a voice and engage with the community as a whole.
