Groovin' Well is an exciting initiative that will bring inclusive dance and movement workshops to Dover’s over-50s, aimed at improving physical health, boosting mental wellbeing, and reducing social isolation.
Led by experienced facilitators, these inclusive sessions are designed to help participants feel energised, confident, and supported, no matter their prior experience or ability.
The supportive and non-judgemental sessions allow everyone to contribute and feel proud of what they create.
We want to offer this programme for Dover in 2025 - and with your help, we can make it happen. Let’s get Dover dancing!

What we'll deliver:
- Run a 24-week programme of free dance and movement workshops for people aged 50+ in Dover (called Groovin’ Well)
- Make and perform a joyful final performance
- Provide local employment for older dancers
- Provide volunteering opportunities for older people
Why it's a great idea:
Groovin’ Well offers multiple benefits, especially for older adults who are at risk of social isolation and low mood because of a lack of suitable physical activities for their age group. Evidenced by participant feedback, the workshops:
• Support social connection: people make friends, work together and feel part of a community.
• Boost wellbeing and fitness: gentle movement builds strength, balance, and confidence.
• Stimulate memory and focus: remembering steps and engaging in creative tasks supports cognitive health.
• Encourage creativity: participants co-create their own performances, boosting confidence and pride.
• Are accessible: just turn up and join in. The sessions are FREE!

- Buy refreshments & prepare a warm welcome for participants
