The idea is for locals both children and adults to come and enjoy getting fit and active in a fun way, by meeting others. We also want to improve members' self-esteem, mental health and wellbeing
The aim of the project to create a safe, enjoyable environment for local people to dance and keep fit through some structured classes and activities. This will include developing themed activities such as exploring how we can help the environment e.g. in local parks tidying or accessing the space and meeting other locals to engage in positive activities. We want to help offer volunteering and training opportunities for local members, whom maybe looking for ways to find employment but lack experiences and or qualifications. The weekly sessions will allow local children and adults to have access to improve their confidence, health and build stronger relationship with those living, working within our local communities such as Church Street Ward areas. PTSA has already a established membership over 350 plus with large percentage of these children and young people representing a diverse social background both male and female.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project will focus on young people and adults, participants will come from Church Street ward areas. We maybe explore others members of Westminster areas if local wish to invite a friend for moral support. Therefore the benefiting participants will be impacting the community and local businesses nearby. The togetherness of Church Street will be demonstrated by locals promoting their photos or footage in many ways socials, media - empowering participants to share their stories. We hope will help with loneliness, metal health and wellbeing as well as building new friendship. Bringing our community people together from all diverse and social backgrounds, creating a more inclusive community especially at a time like now with equality issues and conflict. Lockdown, has affected us all, increasing people's mental health including the adults / families with unemployment rising each and every week and Covid-19 causing many to have metal breakdown.
Steps to get it done:
We intend to share the project story and progress across our social media @protouchsa sometimes going LIVE on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to engage with the donors to see how you funds are impacting on our project members and the wider community. This would be of course in with GDPR and ensuring our members are happy to be on social / live recording.
