The Latest from Garden Share Loneliness & Food Poverty

Reducing Loneliness: Loneliness is a significant issue among the vulnerable population, particularly the elderly. By providing a space where people can come together to grow food and flowers, we have been able to reduce social isolation and loneliness among the participants. The project has provided a space for individuals to socialize, make new friends, and enjoy the company of others.

Reducing Food Poverty: Food poverty is a growing concern, particularly among vulnerable populations. Through the project, we have been able to provide fresh, healthy produce to those who need it most. This has not only helped to reduce food poverty but has also improved the health and wellbeing of those involved.

  1. Providing Companionship: Many of the participants in the project have found that it provides them with a sense of purpose and companionship. By given friendship this has helped them to be part of the community and involved.

Importance of Organic Compost, Fertilizers, Plants and Seeds

Organic compost, fertilizers, plants, and seeds are essential to the success of the project. These items are used to grow healthy and nutritious produce, which is then distributed to those who need it most. Organic compost and fertilizers help to improve the quality of the soil, ensuring that the plants grow strong and healthy. Plants and seeds are carefully selected to ensure that the produce is both nutritious and suitable for the local climate and soil conditions. Also using home made and organic substances helped our pollinating wild life.

Tools and irrigation systems are essential to the success of the project. Participants need access to high-quality tools and equipment to effectively plant, tend to, and harvest the crops. Irrigation systems are also essential to ensure that the plants receive adequate water, particularly during periods of drought. using different irrigation system that did not suffocate the plants with water but saved water but adequate through the past very hot summer.

The plants and seeds grown in the project have been a key highlight, providing fresh, healthy produce to those in need, as well as a source of joy and fulfillment for the participants. The careful selection of plants and seeds to suit the local climate and soil conditions has been a key factor in the project's success.

The project's weekly addition of different plants and seeds has been a source of joy for not only for participants but their carers and familes, and those who were housebound. The opportunity to work with a variety of plants and seeds each week has been a fulfilling and enriching experience for all involved, contributing to the success of the project

In conclusion, the project to grow food and flowers in the gardens of the vulnerable has had a significant impact on the individuals involved and their communities. By reducing loneliness and food poverty while providing companionship, the project has improved the lives of those involved.
