The idea

Our project focuses on revitalising local green spaces through initiatives such as clearing overgrown areas, planting bulbs, seeds, and plants to enhance biodiversity and natural beauty. We'll refine the edges of fields and grass spaces to create well-kept environments. Regular litter-picking sessions will ensure these spaces remain clean and enjoyable for all. Additionally, we aim to foster community spirit by hosting events like fundays, and family group activities, creating opportunities for connection, shared enjoyment and improved mental health. The Green Gym will help combat social isolation, improve mental health as well as creating wildlife habitat areas and spaces for us to meet with other residents.
By working with Cheshire College South and West we hope that those taking part in the Green Gym will be able to get qualifications that will encourage them into paid work opportunities. We will work with the Bunbury House, an approved premises on the estate, to offer Green Gym.

What we'll deliver

  • Regular litter picks
  • Overgrown areas cut back and cleared
  • Buy tools e.g wheelbarrows, lawnmower, brushes, hedge cutter
  • Plant a community orchard
  • Develop a green gym to combat social isolation and bring local residents together
  • Remove debris from around trees all over the estate
  • Plant spring and summer bulbs in raised planters and grass verges
  • Offer qualifications through the Green Gym
  • Create a Wildflower Meadow
  • Create a Pumpkin Patch
