Charity Description: Bright Park (Trust) has a 6-acre wooded land now open as a community park in Liverpool to everyone. It has clear objectives that include i) restoring the landscape and improving and shaping it for this and future generations ii) improving the habitat and biodiversity of the land ii) running events and activities on the park that bring people outdoors to enjoy the beautiful place iii) using our facilities and programmes to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities around the park especially disadvantaged children and young people iv) developing a passionate team of dependable volunteers to join the small staff team in achieving its other objectives, some becoming long term friends of the park.
Achievements to date: (i) Since Covid19 started in 2020, we have (i) raised thousands of pounds to provide structural fencing and improve the security of the park for staff, volunteers, visitors, and other users (ii) transformed the park from a wilderness to a beautiful space that is now visited daily by people of all ages from the area and beyond. We heard today (30.10.24) that we were awarded a Level 5 Outstanding grade by Britain in Bloom assessors who visited the park in August (iii) created four new habitats and vastly improved a fifth.
