Thank you so much for offering to support our project Activate Freightliners Farm. You may have guessed that we have not been pushing this campaign over the last few months as coping with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic has taken over everything. Unfortunately we have not managed to reach the target and therefore you will not be asked to fulfill your pledge and the funds will not be taken from your bank or paypal account. The project to renovate the classroom is very important to the farm and we will continue to look for ways that we can do this but for the time-being the day to day costs of running the farm, feeding the animals and making site and activity changes to enable the farm to continue to bring benefit to local people by connecting them with nature, farming, gardening and animals has become a significant challenge. The loss of income from activities like school visits, corporate team events and cafe sales has left a big hole and whilst we have reduced costs to a minimum by closing and furloughing staff costs of animal care and site maintenance remain. Over at least the next three months we anticipate needing to raise an additional £7,000 every month to cover the basic costs of maintaining the farm (feeding the animals, watering the garden, keeping in touch with vulnerable volunteers) and more to adapt and reach our usual numbers of people. We know many of you have already donated to help the farm at the current time and we are so grateful to everyone for their generosity and speed of response but given the current situation we have to ask again. If you are able to convert your pledge to a donation to the farm to support us at this difficult time we would very much appreciate your help and you can donate through our regular donation page https://localgiving.org/donation/freightlinersfarm or get in touch by email to [email protected] to donate directly by bank transfer or by post. If you would like to contribute specifically to the classroom renovation please do keep up with our fundraising efforts by signing up to our mailchimp list www.freightlinersfarm.org.uk/keepintouch and watch out for when we are able to put our full energy into making this happen again or email us to let us know and we'll get back to you directly. Thank you once again and we look forwards to keeping in touch in the future and welcoming you to the farm again and at some point to the newly refurbished multi-functional classroom.
Whoop, 30 people have pledged since fundraising began!
The farm has something for everyone Fin talks to 8 year old Mara and retired volunteer Nigel about their Freightliners. With our renovated classroom we'll have an indoor space for local kids like Mara to get hands on and creative with farm based activity sessions. And the planned flexibility will also provide more suitable space for adults to have a go too.
We have only a few hours to get in a batch more pledges. Thank you to everyone who has pledged and helped spread the word about our campaign and especially to our young farmers who have been braving the mstors to put their pitches for the project together. A short snipped above to show what they were up against. Please help them to help the farm reach it's target and like comment and share and pledge if you can. A pledge of £2 could help us secure a pledge of thousands from the Crowd Fund London Team.

Thanks so much for getting us started our first 10 pledges yay. There's a long way to go so please spread the word let your friends and their friends know. Pledge, share co-fund! And as a little inspiration we'll be sharing a series of videos made by our young farmers about the farm and our community. Starting with a few words about working with generations of local children and families Farm Worker Kirstie.
