Last Summer, the Orchard Bar at Preston Market trialled live music under the market canopy on Saturday nights during Summer. These were very popular and the visitors demanded more! All the bands were local musicians, a mixture of original music and covers, receiving paid gigs and an opportunity to perform to a new audience at an amazing outdoor covered venue. These gigs are free to access and attracted a wide audience, from Saturday night pub goers to teens and older music fans. The crowd funder is designed to help purely with the cost of hiring the bands for ten weeks of the Summer. Full risk assessments are in place for this venue as it is owned by Preston Council who fully support the project and security present at all shows. The costs for these events have risen since last year and this crowd funder will make these shows financially viable for 2024. This will be the 2nd instalment of events as the first 10 events have been a huge success gaining crowds from a wide demographic.

What we'll deliver:

• Host 10 live music events
• Pay all the musicians a fair fee
• Bring a diverse crowd to Preston city

Why it's a great idea:

Increased revenue for surrounding businesses, bringing both a new and existing crowd to Preston to showcase the Market quarter. These free events are well supported by all demographics.

• Raise enough funds to pay for the events.

This will be our 2nd set of events as we have now completed the 1st ten events of the summer. These events bring a vibrant vibe to the city centre and we have a wide demographic who have enjoyed the events so far. We are now hoping we can crowd fund for the 2nd instalment of the next 10 music event for the city. There is no other event like this that provides free live music within the city centre for all to enjoy.
