By Free Little Library Worthing
We're bringing Free Little Libraries to Worthing! Located in local parks and public spaces for all enjoy. • ‘Take a Book, Share a Book’ • Building Community, Sparking Creativity, Inspiring Readers.
'Little Free Libraries' is a global initiative to share a love of stories with kids and the local community. We've joined this worldwide initiative and are bringing Free Little Libraries to Worthing! Each Library is a small wooden box, installed in local parks or public spaces and filled with children's story books and any other books local people want to read. The libraries are completely open and free to use. Just stroll past the library and take a book and, if you can, return the book or share another book for others to enjoy. The libraries are built in partnership between the Free Little Library Worthing Project group and the local Adur and Worthing councils. The library boxes are stocked and looked after by local volunteer stewards. Local residents can get involved by using the libraries, sharing their books or volunteering to be a steward of a box. The Free Little Libraries will also be a place to host storytelling, picnics, meet ups, and all kids of family gatherings.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Worthing's parks and public spaces are beautiful. We want to give another reason to take a walk to your local park or playground by adding Free Little Libraries. The Adur and worthing's library services are fantastic. We want to make sharing a love of stories and reading even easier by placing Free Little Libraries in the spaces people love to go for relaxing strolls, days out, and weekend visits. The project will make Worthing an even more special place to live: Building Community, Sparking Creativity, Inspiring Readers.
