Fill the Frame outdoor art exhibition on display at Preston Markets

Blog Preston

An outdoor art exhibition featuring the work of nine Preston-based artists is on display in the city centre.\n\nThe exciting artworks – featuring photography, images of the city, abstract art and paintings – are on show at Preston Markets. The large-scale images displayed in three unique frames is a crowdfunded project by arts producer Garry Cook.

The local economy

People came to Preston Markets to see the images, spending money in local coffee shops, cafes and other market stalls during their visit. People have entered Preston City Centre as tourists, increasing football and spend in local retail outlets.

The project has given artists a platform to display their work. The work has had a much bigger audience than an indoor exhibition, due to the large scale images being displayed in a permanently accessible outdoor location.

Visitors have come in to the city centre and walked to the exhibition, giving them exercise mental health has also been improved by experience the diverse art and by generating pride in the city's creative artists.
