More about our impact
The environment
The event wasn't specifically geared towards helping the environment.
The local economy
We exceeded our forecast, since ALL £30k costs were spent with suppliers from or within 20 miles of South Ribble.
Volunteering, jobs & education
The event saw requirement for 25/35 volunteers from the club membership, which included many U16's. The financial success of the event, means the Fox Lane site remains and becomes ever more viable, thus growing the business, requiring additional staffing and protecting existing jobs.
Arts, culture & heritage
Sunday afternoon saw us showcase 3 young acts from local schools, who all performed in front of amazing crowds. This was a huge opportunity for them to start and develop their musical careers. This was also supplemented by other more establisghed local musical acts.
Activity, health and leisure
Each of our sporting sections held taster sessions which allowed non players / children to try out new activities and sports. This was free and was a great opportunity for hundreds of people to try something new and get involved. Tennis believe they attracted 4 new members from the weekend and Bowls 2.
