Trail Blazers Education

The Latest from Forest School and Fishing provision

Since receiving the Spacehive grant, we have successfully established our outdoor classroom tipi and begun delivering Trail Blazers Education sessions in this new learning environment. The tipi has been set up as a dedicated, all-weather outdoor learning space, allowing us to run regular nature-based and experiential education activities throughout the year.

We have been using the space to deliver hands-on workshops focused on outdoor learning, including fishing and bushcraft, environmental awareness, teamwork, wellbeing, and practical life skills. Sessions have also included forest school-style activities, storytelling, creative arts, bushcraft, mindfulness in nature, and curriculum-linked learning for children and young people. The tipi has also provided a safe and welcoming space for group discussions, reflection, and community gatherings.

In addition to structured sessions, the outdoor classroom has been used by local schools, community groups and families, increasing access to green space learning opportunities and encouraging stronger connections with the natural environment. Feedback from participants has been very positive, with many reporting improved confidence, engagement, and enjoyment of learning outdoors.

Overall, the project has enabled us to expand our reach, improve the quality of our delivery, and create a sustainable outdoor learning hub that continues to benefit young people in kent.
