Foodhall is a volunteer run, pay-as-you-feel community cafe which utilises surplus food and construction materials to provide fresh and healthy food in a multi-award-winning architectural wonderland.
The project tackles the issues of social isolation, food poverty, food waste and access to arts and culture. We instigate meaningful community engagement between diverse societal groups that is inter-generational and cross-cultural.
We started the project in 2015 with no start-up capital and has since grown tremendously despite limited funding. We offer many arts, crafts, cultural and educational workshops and events which are all free and open to all.
We work with and support many social and charitable organisation including the NHS, addiction and recovery groups, environmental and food groups, music and arts groups, disability organisations, refugee and asylum groups and many more.
