More about our impact
The environment
By providing fresh fruit and vegetables without packaging, we reduced waste that would otherwise need sorting or recycling. All our supplies arrived in boxes rather than individually wrapped items, and we gave everyone we assisted a reusable box, bag, or bowl. This simple approach significantly cut down on single-use packaging and encouraged sustainable habits, helping to protect the environment while supporting our community.

Volunteering, jobs & education
Volunteering was at the heart of Grandads Front Room CIC, powered by the dedication of our incredible “Grandadders.” Throughout the project, we demonstrated to the wider community the true value of volunteers and the remarkable difference they can make. We showed that community spirit and collective effort can transform lives. The project also helped educate and inspire young people, highlighting the importance of practical life skills often learned at home—such as cooking, cleaning, and caring for others—and reinforcing the vital lesson not taught in schools: the meaning and strength of family.
Activity, health and leisure
During these challenging times, when families were limited to one daily outing together, we helped make leisure and togetherness possible at home. Through the food we supplied, families were able to cook and share meals, turning a difficult period into an opportunity for connection. Our project encouraged parents and children to learn basic cooking skills, spend quality time together, and rediscover the simple joy of being a family.
