More about our impact
The environment
The lighting scheme includes all LED lights and we will be adding EV chargers to the car park to provide for more green travel. We have also planted hundreds of trees as part of the project to create more of a sports parkland.
The local economy
As per the original forecast the track will allow for all the economic benefits to be achieved as the track and club develop. It is too early to provide detailed stats, but as anticipated discussions are already under way around regional events.
Volunteering, jobs & education
It is still early to share numbers however the club has greatly expanded its coaching core and expertise. Discussions with England Athletics are underway who have expressed an interest to host training courses at the facility. In time we expect the provided qualifications to greatly exceed the projection.
Arts, culture & heritage
With sport being a key part of culture, this only goes to strengthen the already excellent sports provision in the district.
Activity, health and leisure
As above the number of future users of the track will continue to develop as schools, community groups and the club all embrace and use the track more. its central location between schools reduces barriers to participation and we expect for there to be a continual upward trend of users.
