Walsall Photographic Soiety was founded in 1892 and has been closely linked with Walsall for 132 years. We are a small friendly group sharing an interest in all aspects of photography. Our activities continue to evovle and include workshops on Photoshop and Lightroom, interesting talks given by established and knowledgeable photographers on a wide variety of subjects. We also have regular in house camera shoots with established models along with other practical events covering still life and diverse subjects such as water droplet photography. We also run internal competitions divided into two categories, print and projected images, and two sections Beginners and Advanced. These enable members to ehibit their work and gain useful critique from visiting experienced judges. At the end of the seson trophies are awarded to the members who have accumulated most points in the merit competitions in both categories alng with the winners fo the Tony Woodvine trophy for monochrome images and the winner of our Exhibition competition. In addition to our internal competitions we have interclub competitions with other clubs in the MCPF area. Members are also encouraged to enter external competitions such as Midphot and are accordingly given advice and support.
Everyone is welcome no matter what levelof experience or what type of camera is used.
