The environment
For a day, the area was transformed, into an abundance of colourful reflecting the indian culture
The local economy
The visitors spent more that 3 - 4 hours, food and drink establishments benefited from the visitors
Volunteering, jobs & education
We had 50 volunteers, working throughout the day, helping in areas of set up, signposting, raffle tickets, safety and supporting on the day. Many volunteers gave time and expertise in the 6 months lead up to the event, planning, fundraising, marketing, communications and delivery of the project
Arts, culture & heritage
The interactive nature and delivery of the various workshops and story telling helped the in sharing and expanding knowledge of the arts, culture and indian heritage
Activity, health and leisure
The timetable of the day for full of activities for the whole family. Interactive dance workshops, craft workshops, taster meditation for young and old, Yoga, Taichi and Belly Dancing. Hands on instruments and making music. Local dramatic arts schools showcased dances and theatre too for all to enjoy and participate
